Under the title “The Impact of Drugs on Public Security, Economy, and Development in Northwestern Syria,” the Syrian Center for Drugs Control held a workshop attended by representatives from civil society organizations, unions, media bodies, research and study centers, and Abdul Ghani Shobak, Assistant Minister of Local Administration.
The workshop provided a comprehensive definition of drugs and examined their impact on security, the economy, and development in northwestern Syria. Discussions addressed the prominent challenges facing the region due to the spread of drugs among various segments of society. The workshop concluded with proposals and recommendations emphasizing the need to strengthen local security measures to mitigate the impact of this phenomenon on the economy and public security.
